RIGHT NOW, the moment you begin reading this...

...this blog officially opens.

Hello, this is Elliott, the creative lead of Bliss Stage: Love Is Your Weapon, the computer game adaptation of Ben Lehman's tabletop roleplaying game about the lives and loves of child soldiers in a brutal psychic war.

Bliss Stage: Love Is Your Weapon is a strategy game and visual novel based on the characters and situations in Ben Lehman's scenario Final Act from the first edition of Bliss Stage - in fact, for a long time, we were calling this game 'First And Final Act' to reflect that.

In this game, you are Joshua Castellano Preston, a 15-year old survivor of the Bliss and a new Resistance recruit, fighting against his world's alien enemies. As Joshua, you must master combat in the ANIMa, the strange alien device that creates a mechanized battlesuit from weaponized love - love is, literally, you weapon, and trust literally your armor, against the enemy.

You must choose who he will wield, and why, by interacting with his fellows in the Resistance. Interludes between battles, and getting to know, understand and even love the other members of the Resistance, directly improves his abilities in combat by upgrading the linked weapons on his ANIMa.

Possible love interests for him include:
-Anchor Meredith Baker, who is trained to know you better than you know yourself; she literally becomes your armor, the Gawain Main Battle Walker.
-Wingmate Sara Smith, who's innocent but not naive; she forms the Seraphim Thruster Wings, a jetpack.
-Ally Gabriel Invierno, who badly needs another Pilot to talk to; mnanifested as the Subspace Maquihuitl, a chainsaw - like energy blade.
-Derek Smith, Sara's brother, who is deeply afraid of losing her; he forms an energy shield, the Virtue Aegis.
-Anna Lin, the long-suffering veteran commander and a mother at 17; she is a Tactical Matrix, a helmet housing an advanced heads-up display.

Also, we have an announcement: Everyone at Perpetual Motion Entertainment is very excited to tell you that we'll have a presence at Yaoicon, an anime convention specializing in tales of same-sex romance and male beauty. There, we hope to have a video demo of the beginning of the Derek Smith storyline.

Our character artist Christina Blackwood has some truly amazing pictures of the cast, and I'd love to show you those next update this Friday: until then, welcome to the VN development blog!
